I also visited this shop last summer when we were in Vt. It is really a wonderful shop. Brightly lit and clean. I wanted to make a quilt for my daughter who lives in Fl. She and hubby ride Harley's so I found some fabric with pigs on motorcycles and didn't have a clue what to make. Carol went out of her way and drew out a quilt pattern using this focus fabric.
She was wonderful. I have never been in a nicer shop and have also ordered on line from her. I would recommend this shop to all quilters. Her hours are I believe only in the afternoon so check before going.

Just a quick note to say the second pack of fabric arrived today - the first arrived last Fri. Our poor new postman didn't quite understand the significance of the package and looked rather shocked as I snatched it from him and ran into the house shouting "it's here, it's here!", leaving standing on the doorstep with the rest of the post!!!

Just had to tell you how much fun the Mile A Minute quilt is. I ordered it along with the Schlep Bag pattern which is also a winner. First I want to thank you very much for all of your
help in this long-distance transaction. I really

The material arrived last Friday and I sat down Sunday
and made the table cloth (complete with lace trim) and
4 matching napkins. I am attaching a picture for you
to see. I'm not quite the seamstress that my mother
is, but what I've learned, I've learned from her :)

I had lunch with my friend Charlotte on Monday and
delivered the goods ... she was thrilled and will be
seeing her friend some time in the next few days and
will be able to give it to her. I am glad we were
able to do this purchase by mail and phone -- as I
told you my friend has colon cancer, which has spread
throughout her body and although she knows her time is
limited, she is hoping to make it to Christmas. Being
able to give her friend this gift before she dies was
very important to her -- I am glad that I, no ... WE,
were able to do our part to make her wish come true.

RE: Carol--I have a complaint!!!!!

I SHOULD be cleaning!!!! I SHOULD be decorating!!!! I SHOULD be
shopping!!!!, etc., etc. But am I doing those necessities??? No!! What am I
doing? I'm sewing mile a minute blocks. I think they must be related to
bunnies......they just keep multiplying. Now really.....it's a form of
cleaning, because when I get that large Joanne's bag of scraps finished,
the living room floor will be cleaner. And all I wanted to do was to
recycle those scraps, like I do all that other garbage!!!! Well.....OK, so
maybe I did add a FEW of my own scraps, but I needed to get rid of those
too. Well........alright, alright, so I did PURCHASE a LITTLE bit of other
fabric......but it did spur me on to sew more blocks, just because I had a
little extra variety. And when I see how some of those blocks
look....especially those that I cringed when I added certain fabrics to
them......how DID they come out looking so good. And I can't even start
re-cutting the blocks, because I can't stop sewing the bloody things
together!!!!
Muriel--who seems congenitally unable to sew 6 in. blocks--inevitably they
end up 7-9 in!!!

It has taken me awhile to get this quilt on digital and sent it out.I bought the fabrics ( this past winter ) from you batik and Bali prints. I created this quilt ( from
Feb. to June) to hang in our church and it has beenrecieved very favourably. It was officially hung the last Sunday in June. I am very pleased with the results. Thanks for having such a great selection of fabrics. It made my job so much easier.

I simply have to express my pleasure over my first order from Quilt-a-way! I ordered on-line on Sept.17 and on the same day Carol sent a query about the order (it was too large for one package, she told me the price for sending 2), on Monday she sent the order out and today I have it in my hands! My compliments! That is great service!
The whole thing really pays with the present dollar-euro exchange rate in spite of the postage costs. Normally I order mostly from the shop owners on this list, but when one doesn't find the right fabrics there, Quilt-a-way will be a real alternative for me in the future!

Just wanted to let you know that my order has arrived. When I opened the
package at work the other women started an argument as to whose quilt I was
going to make next (Mom's is). They loved the patterns. I suggested that they
learn to quilt and then they too could use fabrics as nice as these.

While camping in the Berkshires (MA) and I might add sleeping under a
handmade quilt, I decided to take a day and ride up to Vermont and see
Carol Coski's newly expanded quilt store. WOW! I wish her shop was here on
Long Island. It is so bright and clean and spacious and organized. They
actually had all the lighting in Ott bulbs so the fabric is true colored and it just
makes you want to hang around, which I did for a few hours!

Someone said she has 8000 bolts of fabric! I did count over 100 bolts of
flannels, racks of Thimbleberries, a whole long wall of batiks, 1930's
reproductions etc etc.

Carol even did an impromtu demonstration of a machine applique/fused block
from one of her quilts while 5 of us watched. This was in response to a
customers question. I've never seen an owner at the stores in my area do
that much of an on the spot demo.

If you are anywhere near southern Vermont this is a shop you don't want to
miss. There is a web site too www.quiltaway.com. BTW everything is
discounted.

And no I am not affiliated with the store just re-enjoying my visit as I
get ready to wash all the fabric I bought there.

and appreciate your efforts in making this happen. The other fabrics you
sent were adorable. It is so hard to tell on the internet but these are

Good morning Carol,
I just wanted to thank you for a very informative, creative, fabric painting experience. Your class was fun! I enjoyed spending the day with you, Jen, and the two ladies from CT. Your knowledge of fabric painting and your safety and technical information was great. I can't wait to get some paints for my own projects.
I got home and ironed all my samples and labeled with the techniques. I will keep my originals until something better is created to replace them.

I look forward to bringing my Mom and her friend down for a shopping spree in August! We call it "Bar Hopping" when we go to a quilt supply store!
